Dare To Lead by Brené Brown

Dare to Lead is a self-help book for professionals who want to become more courageous and effective leaders. The author, Brené Brown, is a researcher and lecturer who has studied the emotions and behaviors that shape our lives and work. She argues that leadership is not about titles, status or power, but about recognizing and developing the potential in people and ideas.

Brené identifies four key skills that daring leaders need to cultivate: rumbling with vulnerability, living into their values, braving trust and learning to rise. She also provides practical tools and examples from her own research and experience to help readers apply these skills in their own contexts.

The book is based on new research conducted with leaders, change makers and culture shifters from various fields and sectors.

The author, a psychiatrist named Bessel van der Kolk, draws on research and case studies to show how trauma can cause dissociation, PTSD, and other symptoms. He also proposes new strategies for healing, such as eye movement therapy, neurofeedback, mindfulness, yoga, and play.

The book aims to help individuals, carers, and medical practitioners understand and treat trauma better.
